Point of Existence

“What if we were never meant to exist?”

“No such thing.”

“What?”

“No such thing. Everyone who exists in this world is meant to be here. How that came about is inconsequential.”

“But–”

“No arguments.”

“But, I–”

“No arguments, Red.” Two brothers looked at each other, one in defiance and the other amusement. The elder smiled knowingly at his sibling. “We’re here because it was our destiny to be here. Whether or not our birth was intended by our parents is of no consequence. You and I, we’re here because we’re supposed to be, and no one can change that but us.”

“Rian…”

The smile widened, the elder’s face transforming gradually into affection for his younger brother. “You worry far too much over the past when you should be looking to the future. Just let it go, Red.” The brothers exchanged a glance, mirror images of one another and yet completely different.

Finally, the younger sighed and lowered his head. “Very well… We should be going anyways; I hear Shira has been on the warpath looking for you tonight.”

Rian palmed his face, shaking his head. “That girl, I fear she’ll be the death of me.” Red chuckled.

“Or you’ll be the death of her with all the running around she does for you. That isn’t good for a pregnant woman, you know.”

“Hey, I still claim she knocked herself up.” Both brothers laughed, and together they rose to retreat inside.

One Response to “Point of Existence”

  1. Heya,

Nice blurb. ^.^ And I agree with Red. There’s no use to worry about if you were meant to be or not because that was out of your hands. What you should worry is about the destiny you must build, and I think Red has that well under way. ^_~

Keep on with the great work,
